Abstract
This study analyses the relationship between self-respect and quality of life, mediation effect of the action of health control for the recipients of medical security with a chronic disease. The sample of this study consists of the recipients of the medical security who have a chronic disease and participate in the program of case management for the medical security of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, and the sample size of this study is 224. The Structural Equation Model(SEM) is used. The research results show that self-respect of the recipients of the medical security has statistically significant meaning on the action of health control, and the action of health control has statistically significant effect on quality of life. Also, Self-respect has significant effect on quality of life. After all, this study verifies that the action of health control is mediator between self-respect and quality of life. This study discusses theoretical and practical implications for improving quality of life of people who are recipients of the medical security.
